About - Winnie Lee

Hello! I’m Winnie, founder of

The Language Tribe.

I am an English Language Coach, a certified teacher in dyslexia and literacy teaching and an experienced former MOE teacher.

As a parent myself, I’m aware of just how important English communication skills are, whether it is the ability to express one’s opinions, or sustain a conversation, or reading between the lines. It is not just about tackling that examination. It is about making sure our children have the solutions that are specially designed to help them gain clarity and confidence in English today, as well as for the future.

This is what I strive to instil in my students. I want to empower them with more than just theoretical how-to’s and academic knowledge, but also a practical understanding of the English language and its real world uses. I want them to understand that English, whether it is written or spoken, goes beyond the classes, tests and exams during school.

However, critical language skills alone are not enough without real world knowledge. I share with students broader perspectives and insights from the world around us, so they can understand that every single issue can be viewed from many different perspectives. It is crucial that we respect each and every one of these perspectives.

Every child is unique, with unique strengths and challenges. No two children learn the same way, but everyone can learn and develop critical English communications skills today, for the future. No matter what age, no matter what ability.

It ‘takes a village to raise a child’. I would love to partner with you on your child’s English language journey. Let’s nurture and encourage our next generation together, no matter what their abilities or interests are!
